“…Leonardo leads! Donatello does machine!! Raphael is cool but rude! And Michelangelo is a PARTY DUDE!!!”
*ahem*
Yes OK I admit it back in the early 90′s I couldn’t stop watching the cartoon. I hated Shredder just as much as the next 5 year old kid and I must admit these “turtles in a half shell.” Got me into pizza.
But enough of the trip down memory lane. I picked up the trial version of TMNT: Turtles in time re shelled last night. Not having played the original turtles in time I was kind of optimistic on what I was about to play.
First off the TMNT classic cheese is still alive and well. One of shredders (what I assume to be) Gigantic creations has stolen the statue of liberty of all things and the turtles have to stop his evil plan!!
Why the statue of liberty I dot know, most villains rob national banks but looking at the guy I dread to ask.

Anyway back to the game. In the trial version you have both single player and multiplayer available. The single player puts you through one level and one boss (if you can call it that). You can choose from all four turtles which have varying stats. But personally I didn’t see much difference, except for Donatello’s reach seeing as he has his uber long cane.
That aside the game play is……clunky to say the least. Me being me I am used to fast paced combos from the likes of Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden. This game however seems slow and has about as many combos as I have brain cells…Not many!
The graphics on the other hand look really good! Still maintaining the cartoony style and giving the game a nice 3D over hall. I would defiantly hang this game up on my wall more than anything.
The boss battle I mentioned earlier, well it wasn’t a boss as more of an annoyance. It flew and didn’t take long to kill at all.
As for the multiplayer it is very much the same deal but with up to four people. Hordes of foot soldiers who like to watch you more than anything. As you can see I am not overly impressed by this game.

All in all TMNT Turtles in time re shelled is a remake of a game that should of been buried. Even though it looks very shiny the game play doesn’t hit the mark. But if you really enjoyed the original then this is the game for you.
TMNT: Turtles in time Re shelled is available now from Xbox LIVE arcade for 800 MSP!
Garv!
EDIT: Hmm didn’t notice that Michelangelo has exactly he same pose in both screen shots. Thats how varied it is :p
So whats grabbed my attension?
Hey gaming peeps! Here with a news roundup or Plus xp! So hats caught my eye in the past week or so?
Batman: Arkham Asylum Demo.

Sega Q1 fails plummet like a lead balloon.
SEGA Has set sail on the fail boat once more
. Its sad really I love the company even if they have totally murdered sonics image. Anyhoo check my post out on OLC for all the info on it!
Braid Seaquel
That right folks the Seaquel for the hit XBLA game Braid has been announced. The seaquel is called The Witness and will hit XBLA around 2011. Bit of a wait but the game promises to focus on looks and promises us an exploration puzzle game on desolate island. Funky!
So thoes bits of info should get the juices flowing for now. Will update again very soon. Expect a demo reviewof Arkham aslylum. I can’t wait!!!
Its true, games consoles have gotten more powerful over time, allowing developers to make more visually impressive, larger games, which allow them to create something that it ultimately more impressive. But the creativity has always been there – simply contained within the rules and restrictions of the console games were built for. Although generally less powerful than games of this generation, older games can still be masterpieces, and it would be a shame to ignore them thus.
Therefore I have decided to create my own series of articles on PlusXP – simply titled “Did you miss?“. I will be cover ing a good selection of old games, and will review them spoiler-free so fear not if you’ve never played the game before! Keep an eye out, and you may just discover something you may have otherwise missed altogether!

Project Natal (News from E3)
As i have been saying throughout the plus xp E3 2009 coverage that i was gonna do a post on project Natal and what this amazing thing is coming to Xbox 360.

When I first heard about this new thing that Xbox was bringing out I thought and i quote “oh great another wii motion sensor clone whoopy doo. Microsoft at it again not coming up with their own ideas so stealing and adapting others” (That wasn’t a dig at the avatars or anything
.)
But then I thought during E3 i would give this device one chance to wow me at what it could do. I then saw this video:
After looking at that it grabbed my attention a little bit more. This was not just a sensor bar. I mean i have always been sceptical till now. Wouldn’t you when you have seen images all over the net such as this?

Thanks Goodness This Isn't Getting Made
So enough of what it isn’t. More about what Natal is. From the video you ca see its got Motion sensors, camera, voice recognition all sorts. This i the Swiss army knife of controllerless video gaming.
But the one thing that totally swayed me over was Lion Head’s new Project for Natal. Dubbed Milo this actually had me stunned and amazed. If you have been following plus xp over E3 you will know what Milo is. If you don’t or just want to watch the video again, grab you mouse and click This Link! (scroll down till about the middle of the post).
So with project Milo coming this pretty much swayed it for me. Project natal is going to be amazing and i cannot wait to get my hands on it.
So what else has natal got for us? Let a nice E3 stage demo fill you in
I seriously want to get my hands on this now. I hope this has informed you of what this new 360 gadget can do, as for release date sadly nothing has been announced yet but i will expect sometime Q4 next year/ Q1 2011. But that’s just my judgement.
Garv!
Now that all the commotion of E3 I think its time to look back at the best bits of the 2009 Electronics Entertainment Expo! So lets kick things off wat am i most excited about?
What Is Project Natal?
I’ll be doing a full coverage post in the next couple of days to basically tell you what Natal is and what its potential is. When i first heard about it at E3 i thought it was xbox’s clone of the wii motion sensor. How wrong i was. As i say more on that story later. But for now i will lave you with a quick list of what it can do:
Scan images into games
Motion capture each part of the body
Web caming
Voice recognition
Microsoft vision camera times 200. i will fill you all in in the next couple of days.
Mini Ninjas
Haven’t been paying much attention till now. I Saw a clip from E3 ad have since fallen in love with its quirky kiddyness. It sets to me heart warming and comedy and great fun.
DarkSiders.
Another Hack nd slash game that i have been hearing about. Saw some stuff from E3 Looks pretty cool. You play as War who is one of the 4 horseman of the Apocalypse after the apocalypse has happened the horsemen are betrayed by hell d hated by heaven and are stuck on earth with demons. sounds like a good bit of senseless violence.

Assassins Creed 2
Yes its coming (if you haven’t heard already) and promises to be the alot better than the first. not a huge fan of the first to be honest but the sequel looks to be promising!
This years E3 has been awesome. If i can get to E3 2010 tht would be cool. lets keep our fgers crossed :p

Sony's turn at E3
I was personally astounded at Microsoft’s announcements yesterday – personally the news of a new Metal Gear did it for me – I cant wait!
But today, Sony also put up an uncredible display. Some anticipated titles got more information, and some new announcements were made!
Upcoming PS3 titles – Uncharted 2, Fight Night Round 4, SingStar, Bayonetta, Tekken 6, Batman Arkham Asylum, PixelJunk Shooter, Buzz, Ghostbusters and Brutal Legend. Of course the recent game “inFAMOUS” also made an appearance.
Upcoming PSP titles – Rock Band, Dissidia Final Fantasy, and Assassin’s Creed Bloodlines! Possibly a few more great games for the lacking library of the console. Gran Turismo and Resident Evil were also announced. Later on a montage was shown – with more bigger name brand titles – Soul Calibur, Jak & Daxter, MotorStorm Arctic Edge, Dissidia Final Fantasy, Star Wars Battlefront, Rock Band Unplugged.
Even Bigger PSP news!
Kojima takes the stand once again, announcing a new PSP Metal Gear – a PSP title set 10 years after MGS3 (so a sequel to Portable Ops). Kojima stated that the graphics will outdo that of Snake Eater, so this should be impressive. A scene shows four Solid Snakes taking on a Metal Gear – no word on the meaning of this though! Hideos certainly got my attention this year.
New PSOne Classic for PS3
Final Fantasy VII has been announced for download on PSN’s store. I’m sure this will sell well – its being put up for download today!
New game from Rockstar!
Rockstar have announced a new title – “Agent”. More news on this to come later.
Assassins Creed
Ubisoft have displayed more of Assassins Creed II – and also hinted at connectivity with the upcoming PSP title – Bloodlines. The new lead is called Ezio – and this time he can swim
Final Fantasy news!
Footage of Dissidia and FFXIII were obviously shown – but an unexpected announcement of Final Fantasy XIV – a new MMORPG set in the world of Vana’diel from FFXI. Hopefully this will be a better title – its announced as PS3 exclusive but little is known yet. Apparently due 2010.
Motion Sensing Equipment
I havent personally looked into this one much myself as of yet, but it seems that PS3 are unleashing their own motion capture device to rival Microsofts Natal. Personally not of interest to me – but shown for use in RTS games. Looks like the actual motion capture might outdo that of the Wii though – as with Natal.
LittleBigPlanet news!
Media Molecule announced Disney DLC for LittleBig Planet – examples of Captain Jack Sparrow and the Incredibles. It seems they are also in development of a new game – ModNation Racers. A LBP style Kart Racing game which allows for the creation of your own tracks on the fly to be played instantly. The possibilities are astounding.
God of War III
Naturally, God of War III has had some footage – the game is looking beautiful and it seems they are adding a new type of Gauntlets, in the vein of the giant gauntlet from Chains of Olympus. Supposedly going to be as good as the Blades of Chaos, this could be quite something.
Well there you have it. I should cover more of these titles in greater detail soon, but its definitely a promising time for the games industry!
